Qualified for the final round of TEKNOFEST's UAV design challenge — Turkey's largest technology competition with over 100,000 participants. Our fixed-wing platform was evaluated on aerodynamic design, structural quality, weight efficiency, and autonomous flight performance. Reaching the final is a significant result for a fully student-run team.
The 200th student completes a UFUK workshop or course. A quiet milestone that matters more to us than any trophy — five years of consistent work, reaching people who needed it.
Completed our first full TEKNOFEST competition cycle. The team's autonomous navigation system and overall technical execution received commendation from the judges, validating two years of development work.
UFUK begins collaborating with professionals and students from the global aerospace and UAV industry. Partners from multiple countries engage with the team's work — and several officially join UFUK as full members, bringing international expertise and perspective to the team for the first time.
The first wave of UFUK members earns admission to some of Turkey's most prestigious engineering institutions — including Istanbul Technical University (ITÜ) and Yildiz Technical University (YTÜ). A direct reflection of what happens when students are guided early, given real skills, and pushed to aim high.
UFUK submits its first ever TEKNOFEST application and qualifies for the design phase — an extraordinary result for a team that had existed for just two years with no institutional backing, no dedicated lab, and a fully self-funded build.
Five students build UFUK from nothing. No budget, no lab, no teachers. They design their first UAV airframe on paper, teach themselves aerodynamics and electronics from open-source resources, run the first internal workshops, and establish a team culture that still defines UFUK today. The foundation that made everything else possible.
